Holocaust

by the numbers hrs© 05/05/2016

As the Holocaust survivors pass away, so does the firsthand testimony of the Holocaust. “I speak for those who wont, and for those who cannot share their pains” (Starr, 2016). Our speaking engagements vary and the emotional impact is powerful beyond words.

On May 03, 2016, we spoke at a private Catholic High School. Not every child has it easy, the kids at this particular high school work to pay for their tuition. The kids are Dream Act kids their stories are powerful. The kids are frightened that their parents will be deported. The questions were powerful and thought provoking.

“Is the Holocaust going to be remembered when all the survivors are gone, or will it be considered fiction like a movie” (S.J., 2016)?

“Will Donald Trump deport us like Hitler did to the Jews” (M, 2016)?

“Do you remember your parents” (K, 2016)?

“What is anti-Semitism, and what is anti-Zionism (I, 2016)?

“Has the world grown the way you envisioned it after liberation” (H, 2016)?

Our mission is to speak to many, and fight the growing hate towards the Jewish people. The anti-Semitism resurgence is scary. The Holocaust survivors are fading in numbers. The world does not understand, or they don’t know about the Holocaust. The deniers are in the millions, many Jewish kids do know about the Holocaust.

Holocaust education is a key to solving hatred. We might not reach everyone with our mission, but we do a leave an impact.

Remember, everyday is Yom HaShoah to the survivors, if you see or meet a meet a Holocaust survivor talk with them.     Never Forget.
