On May 01, 2011, around the world and in many countries many will celebrate as one for different reasons. May 1st is typically known as May Day, a Pagan Holiday, and Communist Day.
Today Pope John Paul II, beatified by the Vatican. On May 01, 1987, Pope John Paul II caused strife with the Holocaust Survivors by beatifying Edith Stein. Edith Stein was a Jewish girl who became a nun; on August 02, 1942, she was killed by the Gestapo leaving a church. How fitting of a tribute to a man admired by many and loved by all. A man who did forced labor in a stone quarry to avoid being sent to a concentration camp in Germany. Pope John Paul II sanctified by Pope Benedict XVI his predecessor, life comes full circle. Yom HaShoah - The Holocaust Day of Remembrance
Today my mom mourns the loss of her parents and other family members by the hand of the Nazis. Both my parents are survivors and lecture [d] on the stories of what it was like to be held captive for being Jewish.
The image is real of Dachau Concentration camp; the Nazis would send each other these lithographs congratulating each other for a job well done. The last youngest victims to be gassed as the United States army entered the gates on April 29,1945.
The brigade was led by a man who later became my father’s friend, General Felix L. Sparks. When he entered Dachau he was Colonel Sparks, and Commander of 157TH Infantry Regiment. The 157th Infantry Regiment liberated Dachau Concentration Camp and saved my father from dying in a rail car on the tracks entering Dachau on April 29, 1945. Amen!
